Frequently Asked Questions

For the festival

1. When will the registration be?

Daily registration starts at 8:30 a.m. and continues throughout the day. Fill out the registration form upon arrival and get your festival ID/ pass which can be used for all the events from August 25 to 27.

However, the venue capacity for each event are limited and may vary. Seats are on a first come, first served basis, so you should better come early!

2. How many people can each event venue hold?

The venue capacities are as follows:

Buenavista – 40 guests
Namayan – 60 guests
Ballroom I – 220 guests
Ballroom II – 300 guests

3. Is there a registration fee?

No, it is completely free! But of course, to join the book signings, you’ll need to have copies of the author’s books. In case you don’t have any, you can get them at the venue.

For local authors events

1. How many and which books will be signed? Is there a limit?

You may have any number of books signed as long as they were purchased from NBS, NBS Express, or Powerbooks. There’s no preset limit to the number of people who can have their books signed.

However, depending on the number of attendees, we may have to limit the number of copies per person or limit the number of people in line. The book signings will all be on a first come, first served basis

2. Can I bring old books, or other editions of books?

Yes, as long as the books were purchased from NBS, NBS Express, or Powerbooks.

3. Can I have other items signed?

No, only books will be signed.

4. Can I have my photo taken with the author/s?

Yes, of course! We will take your photo when you have your book signed, using your phone, tablet, or camera. However, we will only be allowing one photo per person.

5. I don’t have the author’s book/s yet. Can I buy at the venue?

Yes, every author’s books will be available on-site.

For Author Spotlight events

1. I don’t have the author’s book/s yet. Can I register?

Yes, just fall in line to register. We will instruct you accordingly at the registration area.

2. I already have the author’s books. How do I register?

Fall in line to register. Present your books and fill up the registration form. Your books should have either the official receipt or the price tag – only books purchased from NBS, NBS Express, or Powerbooks will be accommodated. You will be given a signing pass and your hand will be stamped.

3. Can I register my friends who will be arriving late?

No, each person may only register once. Your friend may take your slot, but you cannot register other people in advance.

4. Can I have other items signed?

No, only books will be signed.

5. Can I have my photo taken with the author/s?

Yes, of course! We will take your photo when you have your book signed, using your phone, tablet, or camera. However, we will only be allowing one photo per person.

For Mark Z. Danielewski’s Author Spotlight

1. When and where is it?

It’s at 3 pm on August 26, 2017, at the Ballroom II of Raffles Makati. Registration starts at 8:30 am on a first come, first served basis.

2. How many books can I have signed?

Each person can have one copy of each book signed – House of Leaves, Only Revolutions, The Familiar (Volumes 1 -4 ), and The Whalestoe Letters. That’s one copy of each book, and eight books maximum for each person.

Only books purchased from NBS, NBS Express, or Powerbooks will be accommodated.

For Pierce Brown’s Author Spotlight

1. When and where is it?

It’s at 2 pm on August 27, 2017, at the Ballroom II of Raffles Makati. Registration starts at 8:30 am on a first come, first served basis.

2. How many books can I have signed?

Each person can have one copy of each book in the trilogy signed – one copy of Red Rising, one copy of Golden Son, and one copy of Morning Star. That’s one copy of each book, and three books maximum for each person.

Only books purchased from NBS, NBS Express, or Powerbooks will be accommodated.
