"Ignatius Michael "Mickey" Ingles is a student-athlete-turned-lawyer-and- novelist. He splits his time between working in the Law Firm of Ingles Laurel & Calderon, where he practices taxation, corporate, and sports law, and teaching as a full-time professor at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, where he teaches Constitutional Law, Taxation Law, Emerging Issues in Sports Law, and Robots, Artificial Intelligence, and the Law.
Mickey is the author of Laws for Sports and the Sporty, the definitive guide on Philippine sports law. He is the founder and editor-in-chief of Batas Sportiva, the first and only law blog dedicated to Philippine sports law, and sits as the only Filipino member of the LawInSport Editorial Board. He also writes for Spin.ph, the country's leading standalone sports website, and Rappler, a Philippine social news network.
Mickey also authored Tax Made Less Taxing, a best-selling textbook on Philippine taxation which is now on its 2nd edition. He has also written various law journal articles on sports law, the law of religion, the law of robots, and the constitutional aspects of student social media use, which have been published both in the Philippines and the United States.
